FACE UP! Career Awareness Program
The FACE UP! Career Orientation, Campus Discovery Program and CEGEP Discovery Program aim to introduce high school students to CEGEP and university life, as well as pique their interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). The program will include both a mentorship component, and targeted activities during Fridays to ease the transition into CEGEP and university, in addition to increasing interest in STEM.
FACE UP! Career Awareness is a multi-year and multifaceted-approach program that comprises career and discovery activities (Campus Discovery), networking opportunities for academic guidance (CEGEP Discovery), the creation of mentorship relationships, and targeted activities aiming to foster perseverance, success and leadership skills of high school students. As a secondary objective, the program aims to increase their probabilities of the participants eventually enrolling in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) programs in Canadian universities, particularly for students in under-represented categories (e.g., women, low income families, and students from families with no history of higher education).
